The Men in Blue may be going strong, but it's really the Boys in Blue who now spell magic. And the two guys who seem to be getting all the attention these days are the young guns of Team India, MS Dhoni and Irfan Pathan.

Both represent the resurgent team and both are in blistering form. In fact, speculation is rife that post the Pakistan tour, with Pathan's hat-trick and Dhoni's stint with the willow, the two may accelerate to touch the spectacular Rs 1 crore mark in brand endorsements.

As commentator Charu Sharma puts it, "Cricketers are the most visible people and these two represent the new crop of the team.
They're both young and tough and are very well placed right now as far as endorsements are concerned." Yet, as Harsha Bhogle cautions, "Endorsements are based purely on performance and both these youngsters cannot afford to get distracted from their game by concentrating on their public image."

Mass appeal: In the world of brand endorsements, like in films, you're just as good as your last game. Pathan and Dhoni have both shown consistency in their game.
Says commentator Saba Karim, "Both are strong on performance and presentability factors. Also, with their backgrounds, they both are very humble and that is something which appeals to the consumer.
With their mass appeal, they connect with every Indian and give a positive spin to their endorsements, since they've made it from scratch."
